Tips and Resources

Cable kits required for most machines

Only the ResMed AirMini is supported with cables included in the box. If you use an AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 1/2, System One S60, Prisma SMART, or Apex Medical iCH, you will need to order the matching cable kit separately before the Pilot Flex can connect to your machine. Contact CPAP Machines Canada to confirm the correct kit for your device.

Choosing a cable kit

Some kits include only a DC output cable, while others include both a DC output cable and a charging adapter cable. Confirm which components you need based on whether you also want to charge the Pilot Flex through your machine's power supply.

Charging the Pilot Flex

The Pilot Flex is designed to be charged using a series of existing ResMed, Respironics, and other PAP device AC power adapters. In most cases you will not need to purchase a separate dedicated charger. Refer to the product manual or contact CPAP Machines Canada for complete charging compatibility information.

Backup vs travel use

As a permanent backup, the Pilot Flex can remain connected to your machine and mains power simultaneously, automatically taking over if power is interrupted. As a travel battery, it powers your machine directly without mains power for use while camping, travelling, or in locations without reliable electricity.

Care and Cleaning

Wipe the exterior casing with a lightly dampened cloth as needed. Do not submerge in water. Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

FAQs

Q: Does the Pilot Flex work with my CPAP machine right out of the box?

A: It depends on your machine. The Pilot Flex includes the DC output cable and short charging adapter cable needed for the ResMed AirMini in the box, so AirMini users can use it immediately. For other supported machines including the AirSense 10, AirSense 11, DreamStation 1/2, System One S60, Prisma SMART, and Apex Medical iCH, you will need to purchase the matching cable kit separately.

Q: What is the difference between the available cable kits?

A: Some kits, like the ResMed AirSense 10 cable, include only a DC output cable for powering your machine from the battery. Others, like the ResMed AirSense 11 kit and the Löwenstein Prisma SMART kit, include both a DC output cable and a charging adapter cable, which also allows the Pilot Flex itself to be recharged through that machine's power supply.

Q: Do I need a special charger for the Pilot Flex?

A: In most cases, no. The Pilot Flex is designed to be charged using a series of ResMed, Respironics, and other PAP device AC power adapters that many patients already own. Refer to the product manual or contact CPAP Machines Canada to confirm compatibility with your specific adapter.

Q: Is the Pilot Flex compatible with the BMC Luna G3, Sefam S.Box, or SmartMed iBreeze?

A: These machines are listed as compatible with the Pilot Flex, however a dedicated cable kit SKU was not confirmed in our current documentation. Contact CPAP Machines Canada to confirm cable availability and compatibility for these specific devices before ordering.

Q: What colors is the Pilot Flex available in?

A: The Pilot Flex is available in two finishes, Charcoal Black and Dark Navy.

Q: Can I use the Pilot Flex as a permanent backup power supply at home?

A: Yes. The Pilot Flex is designed to function as both a permanent home backup power supply, automatically providing power if mains electricity is interrupted, and as a standalone portable travel battery for use away from home.
