Ideal for

ResMed CPAP users across all series — S8, S9, AirSense 10, and AirSense 11 — due for a regular tubing replacement

Patients who prefer the wider diameter and familiar feel of standard tubing over slim or heated tube options

Those who need a longer 9-foot tube for a bedside setup where the machine is placed further from the bed

CPAP users who want a straightforward, cost-effective tubing replacement without transitioning to a heated or slim tube

Patients keeping a spare tube on hand for travel or as a backup

Tips and Resources

6 feet vs 9 feet: The 6-foot tube is the standard length suited to most bedside setups where the CPAP machine sits on a nightstand close to the bed. The 9-foot tube provides additional reach for setups where the machine is placed further away — on a lower shelf, across the bed, or in a less accessible location. If you are unsure which length is right for your setup, measure the distance from your machine to your pillow before ordering.

Replacement schedule: Replace your standard tube every 3 to 6 months. Over time the tube material stiffens and can develop micro-cracks in the wall that are not visible to the naked eye, compromising therapy pressure delivery. Tubes also harbour bacteria and mould over time that regular cleaning cannot fully eliminate.

Not a heated tube: The ResMed standard tube does not have a heated coil or temperature sensor and does not enable Climate Control on the AirSense 10 or AirSense 11. If you experience rainout or want automatic humidity control, the ClimateLineAir heated tube is the appropriate choice. If you want a lighter, slimmer non-heated option, see the SlimLine tube listing.

Unopened and hygienic: All ResMed standard tubing sold by CPAP Machines Canada is sourced directly from ResMed and supplied factory sealed and unopened, ensuring a clean, hygienic product with every replacement.

Cleaning: Wash your tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight before reconnecting.

Care and Cleaning

Clean the standard tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners or harsh chemical cleaning agents. Allow to dry completely before reconnecting to your machine and mask.

Replace your standard tube every 3 to 6 months as part of your regular CPAP supply schedule.

FAQs

Q: Which ResMed machines is the standard tube compatible with?
A: The ResMed standard tube is universal and compatible with all ResMed CPAP machines including the S8, S9, AirSense 10, and AirSense 11 series. Contact CPAP Machines Canada to confirm compatibility with your specific machine model if you are unsure.

Q: What is the difference between the 6-foot and 9-foot tube?
A: Both tubes are identical in design and compatibility — the only difference is length. The 6-foot tube is the standard length suited to most bedside setups where the CPAP machine sits on a nightstand close to the bed. The 9-foot tube provides additional reach for setups where more distance is needed between the machine and the pillow. Measure the distance from your machine to your sleeping position before ordering if you are unsure which length is right for your setup.

Q: Is this the same as the SlimLine or ClimateLineAir tube?
A: No. The ResMed standard tube is a wider diameter non-heated tube. The SlimLine is a slimmer, lighter non-heated tube that is 40% lighter and 14% thinner than the standard tube. The ClimateLineAir is a heated tube with an internal heating coil and temperature sensor that enables Climate Control on the AirSense 10 and AirSense 11. If you want a slimmer non-heated option, see the SlimLine listing. If you want heated tubing with automatic humidity control, see the ClimateLineAir listing for your machine.

Q: Is the standard tube a heated tube?
A: No. The ResMed standard tube is a non-heated tube and does not have an internal heated coil or temperature sensor. It does not enable Climate Control or Climate Control Auto settings on the AirSense 10 or AirSense 11. If you experience rainout or want automatic humidity adjustment, the ClimateLineAir heated tube is the appropriate option for your machine.

Q: How do I know the tubing is hygienic when it arrives?
A: All ResMed standard air tubing sold by CPAP Machines Canada is sourced directly from ResMed and supplied factory sealed and unopened. You can be confident that the tubing has not been previously used or handled outside of the original manufacturer packaging.

Q: How often should I replace my standard CPAP tube?
A: Replace your tube every 3 to 6 months as part of your regular CPAP supply schedule. Over time the tube material stiffens, can develop micro-cracks in the wall that compromise therapy pressure delivery, and harbours bacteria and mould that regular cleaning cannot fully eliminate. Regular replacement maintains optimal airflow, hygiene, and therapy performance.

Q: How do I clean my standard CPAP tube?
A: Wash the tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not use alcohol-based or harsh chemical cleaners. A CPAP hose brush can help clean the interior of the tube thoroughly — see the CPAP Cleaning Bundle listing for a premium hose brush option.
