Description

This 15mm heated tube is designed for the Respironics Dreamstation 2, Dreamstation 1, and System One S60 family of CPAP devices. This tubing provides a specific and constant temperature to the length of the tubing to maintain your therapy humidity and to help prevent condensation.

Simply connect the heated end into the heated humidifier of your DreamStation 2 CPAP while the other end connects to your mask.

The Philips Respironics DreamStation heated tube can be used with any CPAP mask no matter the style. The tubing is connected to the mask elbow via an adapter that can be adjusted to fit the precise size of your mask, while the heated end connects to the humidifier.

An added benefit to patients using a Respironics mask, is the ability to remove the quick release connection to snap the CPAP hose directly to the mask elbow. This creates a lighter connection and more efficient way to disburse air pressure while you sleep.

DreamStation users replacing aged or worn tubing as part of their regular CPAP supply refresh

Tips and Resources

Preventing rainout: Rainout occurs when warm humidified air travelling through standard unheated tubing meets a cooler tube surface and condenses into water droplets. The DreamStation heated tube prevents this by maintaining a consistent temperature along the full tube length, allowing full humidity to be delivered without producing condensation — even as room temperatures drop during the night.

Adjustable mask adapter: The mask-end adapter is adjustable to fit any CPAP mask elbow regardless of brand or style. Ensure the adapter is securely fitted to your mask elbow before starting therapy to prevent air leaking at the connection point.

Direct snap connection for Respironics masks: If you use a Philips Respironics mask, you have the option of removing the quick-release adapter and connecting the tube directly to the mask elbow. This creates a lighter connection point at the mask and may improve the efficiency of pressure delivery during therapy. Refer to your mask and tube documentation for instructions on this connection method.

Replacement schedule: Replace your DreamStation heated tube every 3 to 6 months. Over time the tube material stiffens, the internal heating element can degrade, and the heated performance diminishes — reducing condensation protection and humidification consistency.

Cleaning: Clean the tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Do not submerge the heated connector end in water. Hang to air dry away from direct sunlight before reconnecting.

Care and Cleaning

Clean the DreamStation heated tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not submerge the heated connector end in water. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners or harsh chemical cleaning agents on the tube or connectors.

Replace the heated tube every 3 to 6 months as part of your regular CPAP supply schedule.

FAQs

Q: Which machines is the DreamStation heated tube compatible with?
A: The DreamStation heated tube is compatible with the Philips Respironics DreamStation 2, DreamStation 1, and System One S60 family of CPAP devices. Contact CPAP Machines Canada to confirm compatibility with your specific machine model before ordering.

Q: Will this tube work with my mask even if it is not a Philips Respironics mask?
A: Yes. The adjustable adapter at the mask end of the tube is designed to fit any CPAP mask elbow regardless of brand or style. If you use a Philips Respironics mask, you have the additional option of removing the quick-release adapter to connect the tube directly to the mask elbow for a lighter, more direct connection.

Q: What is the direct snap connection for Respironics masks?
A: Patients using a Philips Respironics mask have the option of removing the quick-release adapter at the mask end of the tube and snapping the tube directly onto the mask elbow. This creates a lighter connection point at the mask and delivers a more direct, efficient path for therapy air pressure. Refer to your tube and mask documentation for instructions, or contact CPAP Machines Canada for guidance.

Q: How does the heated tube prevent rainout?
A: Rainout forms when warm humidified air travelling through standard unheated tubing meets a cooler tube surface and condenses into water. The DreamStation heated tube maintains a consistent temperature along its full 15mm length, preventing the air from cooling enough to produce condensation. The result is consistent humidification delivered from the machine to the mask without water accumulating in the tube or at the mask.

Q: Does the heated tube replace the need for a humidifier?
A: No. The heated tube works in conjunction with the DreamStation's integrated heated humidifier — it does not generate humidity on its own. The humidifier produces the warm, moist therapy air and the heated tube maintains that warmth and humidity along the length of the tube to the mask. Both components are needed for humidified therapy.

Q: How do I clean the DreamStation heated tube?
A: Clean the tube 3 to 4 times per week with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Rinse thoroughly and hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not submerge the heated connector end in water and do not use alcohol-based or harsh chemical cleaners. Allow the tube to dry completely before reconnecting to your DreamStation and mask.

Q: How often should I replace the DreamStation heated tube?
A: Replace the heated tube every 3 to 6 months as part of your regular CPAP supply schedule. Over time the tube material stiffens, the internal heating element degrades, and the tube's ability to maintain consistent temperature diminishes — reducing rainout protection and humidification comfort.
